Wouldn’t it be something lovely not to have to worry each time he departs the White City? To be absolutely certain that he will come back safe and victorious. He always does. Yet one’s heart can only hold out so long. One can only wonder with morbid dread about the day that he comes home still and pale and no longer breathing. Happily, he came back safe to me today.
