Summary: Boromir and Faramir discuss Boromir’s new son’s future. Follows two weeks after the drabble ‘First Place.’ Written for faramir_fics Drabble Challenge, ‘Legacy.’ Also posted to 25fluffyfics, ‘Writer’s Choice.’
Faramir smirked behind his hand as he watched Boromir try to change his infant son. The baby was only just over a fortnight old, but he’d captured everyone’s hearts with little trouble.
“I know you are there, love—why not come and help me. We do not bite, do we, my son?” Boromir finally secured the cloth, cooing lovingly.
“You know you cannot continue calling him ‘my son’ forever; he needs a name.” Faramir rubbed his nephew’s soft cheek.
“Lúthien and I pondered on it, but…”
“He would understand,” Faramir said gently.
“We shall call him Ecthelion, III—for grandfather.”
