CMS Upgrade

Oct 23, 2006

I’ve just upgraded to the newest version of Textpattern, our Content Management System.

This upgrade will mostly affect those of you who post their own work. The admin area has become slightly more advanced here and there, but the changes are small (e.g. as soon as an article is saved, there is a link next to the title to “view” the live version on the site).

The most significant change has nothing to do with the upgrade, but was on my to-do list for some time already: the Articles list, as well as the Recent Articles list on the Write form, now only list your articles instead of all articles, so you don’t have to search for your own anymore.

The upgrade also provides some new front-end functions that I may or may not be able to use to replace some of the elaborate work-arounds that we currently use. And if so, that could possibly make the site a wee bit quicker. Perhaps. At some point in the future, when I get around to looking into it…

As always, if anything is not working for you, please let us know at faramirfiction@gmail.com.
