Summary: Boromir welcomes his new son as memories of the past resurface. Sequel to ‘Second Place’.

Boromir beamed proudly at the tiny bundle cradled by Lady Lúthien as she reclined tiredly (but happy) against the headboard of their bed. “How do find your son, My Lord?” She asked.

“He is a fine boy,” He said delightedly as he scooped the infant up. He could not get over being a father, but he would do his best to do the station proud. He could not help but remember the first time his mother Finduilas let him hold baby Faramir for the first time, his curly head soft against Boromir’s 5-yr-old cheek.

A knock sounded before Faramir’s red-haired visage appeared, making Boromir’s smile broader. “May I come in?”

“Yes, Faramir—please,” Lúthien waved him in.

“Little One; come and meet your nephew.”

Faramir placed a kiss on Lúthien’s brow, before standing at Boromir’s side. “May I hold him, Boro?”

“Of course you may—here.” Boromir placed the child into Faramir’s arms, “Cradle his head in the crook of your arm like this…then support his back with your other hand—that is it,” He said, his mother’s voice echoing in his head.

“Oh my—have you ever seen a more beautiful baby!?” Faramir breathed.

Quietly, Boromir whispered, “Just one.”
