Summary: Faramir being a smartass and joining the Fellowship. He joins them on their quest to a certain extent because I simply thought he needed a bigger role.

Connor: I am her muse of angst and drama
Karma: smiles Ignore him, he likes to be dramatic. I’m Karma, her muse of light and fluffy and all things remotely Chibi! We just wanted to introduce ourselves, sorry Emo-love!
Emo: shrugs I don’t care, go ahead. But be quiet, this next part is mine.

AN: Sorry if not all the dialogue is right and not all scenes are not up to potential, except for original stuff, that’s mine. Ok, and any Elvish in here that’s not found in the book or movie (Even that can’t be written down for I don’t have the DVD’s for subtitles) will be Pig-Elvish. I like it though. Ok, let me lay this out for you right now. EVERYONE IS PAWING FARAMIR!! And when I say everyone, I mean everyone! He’s only going to end up with one person, but everyone is molesting him. Even his own brother, so there’s some LOTR-cest going on kinda but not really (course, that would be cool to). Everyone wants a piece of him, because I love seeing Legolas jealous! He looks so pretty in green! It’s really his color, you know.

Chapter 1: Meeting in a Circle

“I am exploring the inside, I find it desolate
I do implore these confines, now, as they penetrate, “recreate me“”

—Bleed Black

“We have our 9 members Lord Elrond, what causes your troubled expression?” Legolas asked gently, for Elrond looked at the Fellowship he had just made. The Hobbits exchanged curious looks with each other, everyone’s eyes on Elrond.

“9 had been the rings of Men” Elrond said off-handedly “I do not wish to send you off on such a grotesque number. Unlucky it may be, I wish to find one more member, unless one of you would like to resign themselves?” The Fellowship looked at each other curiously, but no one said a word. Suddenly, all eyes were on the doorway as someone appeared. The man wore Ranger clothing, a large dark brown cloak covering him. Most of his face was covered, but a grin of white teeth shown threw. He stood on the steps, still as a statue as Elrond sucked in a breath to puff out his chest in a protest.

“Does a secret meeting mean nothing to Men or Hobbit?” Elrond all but growled.

“My mistake, Lord Elrond” the Ranger’s voice was smooth as he did a suave bow “My invitation was not given to me, for I have just arrived” Legolas suddenly grinned, running at the Man quickly. The Man had only enough time to brace himself before the Elf collided into him. He stood for a moment, swaying as Legolas latched onto him, before he fell forward and pinned Legolas. The two chuckled like two school boys, rolling each other over and over in the leaves. They pinned each other repeatedly, but finally Legolas won. He pinned the man by his wrists, one Elven hand holding the Man’s hands above his head, using his free one to tear down the hood.

“Faramir?!” Boromir sounded surprised to say the least, anger and embarrassment laced in there as well. Legolas and Faramir both looked at the blonde man, each grinning.

“What’s wrong dearest brother?” Faramir chuckled playfully “Are you now happy to see me alive and well and with you again?”

“Not in this manner” Boromir growled, rubbing a hand over his eyes “Lord Elrond, I apologize, this is my younger brother Faramir”

“Ah, youngest son of Denethor” Elrond smiled fondly “Welcome”

“Yes, welcome!” Legolas looked down at the Man grinning “I haven’t seen you in so long Faramir!”

“I know” Faramir grinned like a fox, flipping the Elf around onto his back. Legolas let out a puff of air, coughing slightly as his back collided with the ground “It has been to long dearest Elf”

“Yes! Much to long!” Legolas chuckled, flipping them once again. They rolled around for a few more moments before Boromir and Aragorn decided to pull them off of each other. Boromir brushed his younger sibling off with a huff, as Aragorn gave Legolas a disapproving glare. The two men stepped forward and bowed in sync, both giving an apology in Elvish. Elrond simply nodded and replied curtly in his own tongue.

“Little brother, what are you doing here?” Boromir asked, he to was curt.

“Oh, dearest brother, you know I must simply following you everywhere you…well, I say” Faramir stared in wonder at the small golden ring sitting on the platform. He picked it up, pulling gasps and murmurs from the crows. Elrond was about to scold the youth, but then Faramir snorted in disgust and held the ring to the light “What a gaudy piece of jewelry! Look at it! I think it may be tarnished!” Faramir pulled out a knife and scraped at the outer edge “Hmmm….” he examined it again when no tarnish came off “Well, at least it’s taken well care of. I guess it’s not it’s fault, probably just a piece of gold you picked up in the war, eh Lord Elrond?”

“What…do you think of this ring young Lord Faramir?” Elrond spoke slowly, so as no to alarm anyone “Do you feel anything from it? Do you think it powerful or enchanted?”

“...nope, just really ugly” Faramir grinned, then looked around at the god smacked faces of Elf and Man and Dwarf “What? Why do you gaze at me in fault?”

“No…it’s just…” Boromir stepped forward tentatively, gazing at the ring “That, little brother, is the One Ring of Power”

“This simple band of gold? This little thing?” Faramir held it up to his brother. Boromir gasped (along with a few others) as Faramir tossed it up and caught it at the end of his dagger, spinning it so the ring swirled around it gracefully “This thing has no power brother, you are delusional. Look at it…it’s so…” Faramir thought languidly, stepping back when his brother stepped forward “...gaudy truly is the only word I find for it”

“You feel no sway? No pull at your heart?” Aragorn asked the youth. Faramir turned and smiled fondly at Aragorn.

“Why, I didn’t see you brother Aragorn!” Faramir grinned madly, ready to pounce on the man when suddenly his brother was in front of him and pinning him to the platform that once held the ring “Brother?”

“First off” Boromir hissed, knocking the ring out of Faramir’s hold (it landed back on the stone which Elrond had set it) “You are never to touch the One Ring, I do not want it given a chance to taste you whether it hold sway or not. Secondly, you know who this man is and yet you address him so formally?” Faramir looked frightened, his pretty green-gray eyes wide and lit up with fear. He then nodded, gulping in a breath as Boromir’s hold on his collar tightened.

“He…he is my brother at arms, we are Rangers” Faramir managed, but then his brother jolted him and he shut his eyes “Stop it, I can not speak to you rightfully when you are like this brother!”

“Still such a child” Boromir hissed lowly, so low that only the keenest Elf could hear if they truly wanted “This man could dethrone Father, dethrone us. He is not a brother Faramir, only I am your brother at any arms”

“Yes…forgive me” Faramir sighed out, his brother slowly backed off and let him go gently.

“I hate it when you make me act this way” Boromir sighed, then turned to Elrond “Forgive my brother, for he did not know that what he held was The Ring”

“It is quite alright Brothers of Gondor” Elrond spoke softly “in fact, I think I’ve found our 10th and final member” Faramir’s face lit up while a shadow passed over Boromir’s face “is there a problem?”

“He is young Lord Elrond, I beg of you not to place such a burden on him when he has such a long life ahead of him” True concern shown brightly in Boromir’s eyes.

“Dearest brother, I would be honored to come” Faramir smiled, then bowed to Elrond “Truly, I will come and assist the Ring-Bearer” Faramir turned to Frodo with a wide grin “You not only have my sword but my bow as well, Ring-Bearer” Faramir shivered pleasantly, bobbing up and down on his feet before he gave a full out cry of ecstatic joy “Oh Valar, I’m so excited! When do we leave!?”

“In two days” Elrond said, smiling at the youth. The meeting was adjourned and Faramir hooked arms with Legolas and left with him down a hallway.

“Oh Legolas!” Faramir grinned, still bouncing with each step “To Mordor, to Mount Doom and all that lay between. Oh my dear Elf, what a grand adventure we will have together!” Faramir looked over at Legolas, seeing his Elven friend not even half as excited as himself “Oh Legolas, what ales you?”

“We could die Faramir, we could all die” Legolas turned to his friend with a grim expression set on his face “I came here simply to deliver a message, not to join a life or death quest”

“Oh, my beloved” Legolas’s heart warmed at the endearment “that is only half the fun!”

“Dieing is half the fun?” Legolas quirked an eyebrow “Will nothing damper your childish feelings of adventure?”

“Childish? Nothing is childish about adventure beloved” Faramir grinned again “Why do you think I joined the Rangers at 14? I have been craving adventure all my life!”

“That is what makes me worry so hard about you!” Legolas chuckled.

“Oh, come off your Rohirrian horse!” Faramir nudged his good friend in the side with his elbow “You know that without me your Inner Child would slit it’s own throat from your tight behavior”

“You truly do not care what you do to me, do you Faramir?” Legolas smiled fondly at the Man and his smug grin “You saw what you forced me to do, jumping on you like a child and rolling around in the leaves like a couple of-”

“-children” Faramir finished his sentence “Come now beloved, that was only your Inner Child wanting to play”

“But did it have to come out right in front of Lord Elrond and the council?” Legolas half-groaned “and all those Dwarves as well…that ‘Gimli’ will never let me live it down”

“Legolas, come hunt with me” Faramir suggested, the Elf gave him a ‘look’ “Come now beloved, all we have to do is be quiet about it. Elrond will never know…”

“Why did I be-friend you?”

“Because you love me and you know it”

“....” Legolas did not want to think much into that question…

....nor his breathless response.

“I suppose”

Chapter 2: Danger in the Skies

“I’m hovering throughout time, I crumble in these days
I crumble, I cannot, I cannot find reflection in these days”

—Bleed Black

Sun rays came in threw golden curtains, falling over two bodies that lay languidly on a large bed. The comforter was white, golden Elvish runes over each square perfectly. Soft, white pillows littered the bed as if a nest. White pillows were placed under the Ranger’s spread arm, under both of the bodies legs and bare feet. Pillows circled them, rumpled sheets as well. They simply laid on the blankets, for they had not burdened themselves with the cloth when they had laid down.

The Ranger, golden hair spread out under his head and across the white surface of his pillow, was simply clad in brown pants and a matching brown shirt that went down to his fingertips. His eyelids fluttered silently, fingers slowly twitching in his sleep. One arm was wrapped around the person beside him, only reassuring him that the person was still close at hand even in his sleep.

The Elf, his own blonde hair spread over the Ranger’s arm and his own clothing, was clad in a loose white tunic and loose leggings with soft white slippers over his feet. He had been to tired the night before and had decided to sleep in these garments. His gold spun lashes also fluttered on occasion, but his position was different. He pillowed his head on the Ranger’s chest, moving up and down with the soft rise and fall of the man’s chest. His hands, one buried between their bodies while the other lay on the Man’s chest. His touch was light and friendly, his lips parted slightly to let in silent air and release soft sighs.

Both were content, each had exaughsted themselves the day before with hunting and sneaking, small pranks and such to occupy their time. Most who had seen them yesterday thought they were lovers, the way they whispered and unconsciously flirted back and forth and the way they would jump each other and wrestle at odd moments.

The truth was, Faramir and Legolas had been the best of friends since their first meeting in Mirkwood not 10 years before. Faramir had been a Ranger, his skills in swordsmanship had lacked while he was quite talented with the bow. The other Ranger’s told him to go to Mirkwood, ask for Legolas. He had, wondering what the others had sent him so far off for. Legolas had known, they had sent him to him for Legolas was known for his unique balance of the bow and the sword. Legolas had taught the young Ranger so much, Faramir and him had nothing else to do between breaks but to become friends.

They were not lovers, for they had yet to acknowledge their love.

“Faramir? Legolas?” Aragorn snuck into the room, sighing at the two “What are we to do with the two of you?” He crept over to the window, drawing back the curtains to let sunlight wash over the two forms.

“I hate you brother Aragorn” Faramir murmured, reaching up to rub at his eyes. Legolas groaned softly, shifting until he sat up. He rubbed his eyes sleepily, yawning before staring into the bright sunlight.

“What time is it?” came the all to dreaded question to mother’s everywhere.

“It’s almost noon, Elrond believes you are both up” Aragorn smiled gently “Come now boys, we have a Ring to deliver”

“Pff, an ugly ring” Faramir scoffed.

“Ugly it may be, we must go none the less” Aragorn sighed, stalking out “Pack quickly and dress quicker, Boromir will be checking on you soon brother Faramir”

“Yes sir” Faramir muttered with a mock salute, making Legolas smile. Faramir all but jumped out of bed, grinning now “Come now beloved, it is time for our adventure!”

“The adventure is not ours alone” Legolas reminded him, slinking out of bed as well.

“Yes…” Faramir smiled at him fondly “but it would be all the better if it were only us, for we would get the Ring there twice as fast. To bad, I would enjoy having more time alone with you. Oh well!” Faramir all but jumped out of the room “Who does a man have to kill to get some breakfast around here?”

Legolas chuckled, but the flush on his cheeks told more.

(the scene with all the rocks where they took a break)

“So, there we were…” Faramir jumped on a rock, holding his hands out in front of him “a hundred Orcs, no…300 Orcs!” He grinned madly, drawing his sword “We were outnumbered 100 to 1. The men knew it was hopeless, but I never let their spirits die!” Faramir jumped on another rock, both Gimli and Legolas chuckled when he almost fell “And I say to them, ‘Men!’ I said ‘Do not let our number damper your spirits! But think well of me for I go with honor!’ And then…” Faramir jumped down in front of them, grinning like a fox “We killed them all!”

“Of course, little brother, I have no problem believing that!” Boromir chuckled, mock-fighting with Pippin “There now, watch your footing!”

“If it were the Golden Knight, no one would question it” Faramir sighed, sheathing his sword.

“Shut up, you know how I loath that name” Boromir replied, almost getting nicked “Your getting better at this Pippin!”

“Yes, I did sugar coat some, but it truly was a miracle we all survived” Faramir pulled up his sleeve, showing off a nasty wound over his forearm “I saved my first lieutenant, and I got this”

“You would have never been hurt, if I had been there” Legolas got up immediately, fingers dancing over the barely healed wound “Why is it not bandaged? Have you put healing salve on it? I have some with me…”

“Dear Valar, Legolas” Faramir grinned, jumping back on the rock “You’re a woman!” Legolas grinned, pulling out his own white blade. “A woman with a sword…”

“Keep quiet or I’ll cut that tongue of yours out” Legolas advanced as Faramir drew his own sword.

“A woman with a sword and a sharp tongue, blood on her hands as well” Faramir grinned, blocking the first blow of the Elven sword. He made a kissing motion at the Elf, grinning madly again “Keep this up beloved and I might just have to take you to be my bride”

“The wife of a Ranger is a life of poverty” Legolas growled, jumping up on the rock and knocking Faramir off “Sorry, I plan to keep my luxuries”

“Come now, don’t be mean” Faramir took another blow at the Elf, knocking him on the ground when he pulled his legs out from under him. Legolas was splayed out of the ground, Faramir’s sword coming down only to have it blocked by the slightly curved Elven blade “If you truly desired luxury, Legolas, I could dress you in the finest jewels and ‘dresses’”

“Promises, promises” Legolas pinned the man to the rock, pulling himself off the ground and putting his blade to the pretty neck “If it weren’t so pretty, I’d slit your throat for making such promises to be unfulfilled”

“Ah, you think I’m pretty?” Faramir kept his grin, knocking their blades out of their hands with a twist only to pin Legolas to the rock by his upper arms “Well, well, Legolas, I didn’t know you cared so much”

“Did I say you? I’m sure I only referred to your neck!” Legolas pushed him back, the Ranger stumbling back a few feet. They both got into their fighting stances (Remember on Harry Potter, their stances? Yeah, same ones)

“Strider?” Aragorn turned from his spot to see the soft-spoken Sam.

“Call me Aragorn, Sam” Aragorn replied.

“Aragorn, then, why do they act so strangely toward one another?” Sam asked, referring to Faramir and Legolas. Aragorn watched the two engage in hand-to-hand combat. It was a fighting style not known to many, but Aragorn enjoyed the refreshing fight.

“They are old friends Sam, they have not seen each other for a long 10 years or so” Aragorn replied slowly, taking in a puff of his pipe “They enjoy each others company and enjoy fighting together”

“But the way they talk about each other…” Sam’s ears burned at the tips.

“They are just very close Sam” Aragorn smirked at the flush “They feel complete trust and certain friends can jest each other that way without lust or desire mixed in. Have you never a friend like that?”

“Never a male, sir” Sam’s blush brightened.

“Some men are like that, so comfortable with themselves…” Aragorn trailed off dreamily, then smiled “Secretly, though….” He leant in closer so no one else would hear “I think they love each other” Sam scurried off, scolding himself for asking in the first place. Gimli began to ask about the path they were taking, making Aragorn sigh in frustration.
Boromir was tackled by the Hobbits, his laughter loud and merry. Faramir smiled to himself, his brother had rarely laughed like that.

Faramir aloud himself to be backed on the edge of a rock from the distraction, eyes going wide as he turned to look down the hill that led to more rocks. It was a good mile roll down hill.

“I’ve got you cornered, your mine” Legolas stood in front of the man, grinning. Faramir lunged at the Elf, grabbing him by the arms and trying to push him back. Legolas made a mistake, he pushed at Faramir’s chest. The Ranger stumbled back, still holding onto Legolas’s arms. Their eyes went wide as they lost their footing, Legolas falling forward into Faramir’s arms.

“Legolas!”

“Brother!”

Aragorn and Boromir’s yells were futile, for the men toppled forward and over the cliff. They landed on the ground, the momentum causing them to continue rolling down the hill, their bodies entangled. They rolled down the large hill, finally stopping when their sides collided with a large rock. They had rolled into a sort of very small cave, two rocks on the sides and a very large boulder to their side. They had rolled over some brush, but it sprang back up once their weight was off of it.

“Legolas, are you alright?” Faramir gasped, the Elf nodded eagerly against the man’s chest. They laid on top of each other, Legolas’s head resting on Faramir’s shoulder.

“Brother? Legolas?” Boromir called after them. Legolas managed to move a little, brushing aside the bush and waving up at his comrade.

“We’re uninjured!” Legolas called up, then turned to gaze up “Look into the sky!”

“What is that?” Sam asked, a tingle of fear creeping up his spine.

“Tis nothing but a whiff of cloud” Gimli dismissed.

“It’s moving fast” Boromir pointed out, rising from where he had been on the ground “And against the wind” Faramir came out from the cave, squinting at the ‘whiff of cloud’ until he gasped.

“Crebain from Dunland!” Faramir called up hastily, grabbing Legolas’s shoulder. “Come beloved, we must hide!” Faramir pulled Legolas back into the cave thing, laying on one another again.

“Hide!” Aragorn yelled “Frodo! Sam, put that fire out!”

“Merry, Pippin, hurry” Boromir suddenly went over to the side. Aragorn pushed him back, giving him a look “Faramir-”

“He’s hidden, hide them” Boromir nodded and went back to the Hobbits.

Meanwhile, Legolas held his breath as Faramir hugged him close. Suddenly, the bird-like beasts were fluttering overhead. Faramir squeezed the Elf closer to him, taking in a sharp breath. If they were spotted…if they were found…

“Your heart races madly in my ears Faramir” Legolas whispered to him, smiling slightly from his spot on top of the man.

“Then move up, for I would not wish to upset you with my lack of control over my own heart” Faramir meant that in more ways than one, pulling the Elf up closer. It was Legolas’s turn to take in a sharp breath, his and his friend’s faces coming close. He felt the warmth of Faramir’s breath on his lips, the man smelled like cedar but now his scent left a smoky taste on his tongue like of smoked ham.

He liked it.

Those pretty lips were so close, the breath that came out of them cool and smelled of sweet spring air. Faramir found himself wanting to claim that mouth, to taste the warmth and heat inside.

Neither had been blinded completely of their desire for each other, but that was all they ever thought it was. Now, as the enemy tried to seek them out and as their bodies were crammed into a small hole in stone, they both found themselves drawn closer and closer. Then the sound stopped, the moment almost broken but they managed to salvage the magick between them long enough to press their lips together. Soft lips moved slowly against each other in a loving embrace.

Faramir broke the spell, knowing he could very well ruin the best friendship he had ever had. He pushed himself back on his elbows, his head resting against stone.

“Legolas…I’m sorry, I should have…” Faramir reached up, caressing the smooth line of the Elf’s cheekbone “I don’t want to ruin us…”

“You could never ruin us, what we have” Legolas replied softly, reaching up and touching Faramir’s hair gently “We have long to travel together dear Faramir, may we at least see if this path leads into nothing but desire?”

“Of course beloved…” Faramir replied with a smile, he would do anything for his best friend. The Elven race wasn’t easily trusting, but this Elf had warmed up to him from the beginning and he wasn’t about to destroy that trust. They both wiggled out of the cave, a small smile on their faces. After several failed attempts, they made it back up the cliff and back with their Fellowship.

“Spies of Saruman” Gandalf hissed with distaste “The passage south is being watched”

Faramir sighed, kicking a stone “Damn it all…and here I thought we could get past him” Faramir then rolled his eyes and gave him a ‘well, duh!’ look “Of course it’s being watched! No disrespect Gandalf, but Saruman will cover all his bases and that includes letting us anywhere near Isengaurd or Mordor.”

“Do you have a plan?” Boromir rolled his eyes “If not, then come up with one cause all eyes are on you little brother” Boromir sighed “...as usual” he added as an afterthought.

“Fine…” Faramir sighed in exasperation, realizing all eyes were on him he dropped his head “...damn….”

“If your so smart young one, why don’t you use yourself as a distraction by going to Isengaurd and taking on Saruman?” Gimli jested.

“Oh, to hell be damned I will” Faramir growled, then kicked another stone “Fine then, Gandalf, you are our leader and I shall follow like all brainless goblins do”

“Now young Lord Faramir, do not be mean to yourself” Gandalf said with a twinkle in his eyes “You’re no goblin”

“Yeah, I guess…” Faramir looked up “Hey!”

“As brainless as Pippin, all the hunting skill of Aragorn” Sam began “An aim like Legolas, and looks like Boromir” Frodo smirked.

“Get him a bit shorter and give him an axe…” Merry continued.

“Hand him the ring” Pippin chimed in.

“Give him the gift of magick, Merry’s pluck, and you’ve got yourself the walking Fellowship of the Ring” Frodo finished “A one man show”

Chapter 3: Corruption on the Ground

“(If you listen) Listen, listen
(Listen close) Beat by beat
(You can hear when the heart stops) I saved the pieces
(When it broke) And ground them all to dust”

—Bleed Black

Crunching snow found it’s way to Faramir’s ears threw his hood, making him whirl around to see Frodo falling down in the snow.

“Dear Valar….” Faramir stepped forward to go to the Hobbit, then saw a shiny object in the snow. It was the Ring on a chain, it made him sigh.

“Ah, the Ring” Faramir sighed, leaning down and picking it up. He held it in his palm, it was warm. He smiled slightly, glad to find something warm. He rubbed off the snow, he found the Ring looked a bit better when on the silver chain. “Hey brother!” Boromir looked over, eyes going wide when Faramir drew back his hood and held up the Ring “Look what I’ve taken from Frodo! And it’s warm to!” Faramir’s teasing didn’t settle well, for his brother was upon him in an instant. A fist was in his stomach, causing him to choke on his breath and bend over slightly. “Brother…?” He sounded breathless and weak, it sickened him to hear himself this way. But that’s what his brother did to him sometimes….it was just Boromir…

“Never jest about such a thing” Boromir hissed, Faramir straightened himself and pulled away from the blonde haired man.

“Fine, take the gaudy thing then” Faramir threw the stupid Ring at his brother, turning to walk ahead with no other thoughts then to catch up to Legolas and speak of some lighter subjects. He heard Frodo cry out slightly in alarm that he had lost the Ring, it made him scowl. Stupid Ring and it’s stupid influence…

“Boromir…” Aragorn said warily, Faramir whipped around. His brother was holding up the Ring, staring at it as if in a trance. Gandalf and Legolas turned to look as well…

“It is such a strange fate that we suffer such fear and doubt” Boromir’s voice was low yet clear “over so small a thing…such a little thing…”

“Boromir!” Aragorn’s voice was firmer, it broke his brother from his trance and shook him more than a physical touch would. “Give the Ring to Frodo” Boromir stepped forward slowly.

“As you wish” Boromir held out the Ring, Frodo snatched it away. Boromir forced a smile, ruffling the Hobbit’s hair “I care not” But as Boromir made his way up the mountain toward the others, his face was set in a grim expression. Faramir watched as Aragorn retracted his hand from his sword, then reached out for his brother as he passed.

“Brother…” Boromir shrugged off his touch, but Faramir followed closely “Does the Ring really have that much sway over your actions? Are you truly plagued by it’s presence that much? Please, I-” Boromir’s fist was at his jaw, knocking his sideways. But his brother caught him, holding him by his upper arms as he stared wide eyed at his sibling. “B-Brother?”

“Do not touch it Faramir, do not let it call to you, do not give it a chance” Boromir reached up and tenderly brushed back golden locks from his brothers gray-green eyes “I don’t want it to get to you little brother, you must understand….” Faramir believed him, for his brother never hit him unless he truly had a reason. Boromir’s face was grim, his eyes soft with his feelings…

“I understand brother….” Faramir nodded, his brother nodded and let him go to continue up the mountain toward Gandalf and the Elf and the Dwarf. Faramir stood there in a daze before a hand was placed on his back and he was gently coaxed to go forward.

Clear blue eyes watched, jealousy seething as Aragorn gently coaxed Faramir up the snowy slope. He didn’t want to seethe green, but for right now it was his color as Aragorn’s hand went up Faramir’s back to touch the back of his neck intimately. Faramir smiled softly at the other Ranger, murmuring what Legolas knew was a thanks.

Yes, green was definitely his color today.

Chapter 4: Mercy on the Mountain

“I am destroyed by the inside, I disassociate
I hope to destroy the outside, it will alleviate and elevate me”

—Bleed Black

The mountain was cold.

The ground was covered thickly in snow, not even the thick wool shirt he wore could keep him warm. Neither cloak nor magick could help them, for the wind bit hard and the ice hardened fast. He walked with Legolas lightly over the snow, for truly anyone who studied with Elves could learn to shift their weight in such a way.

Legolas stopped, looking out into the scenery as his Elven ears listened. Faramir stood close behind him, shivering slightly. He leant in close to the Elf.

“What does my beloved hear?” Faramir whispered, warm breath washing over pointed ears only to have the skin freeze afterwards.

“There is a foul voice on the air!” Legolas called over the wind, turning and gazing at Faramir’s concentrated expression “Do you not hear his call?” Legolas whispered before looking at Gandalf.

“Saruman!” Gandalf seethed in anger. The mountain shook, rocks falling from higher above. Faramir ducked close to the wall, but Legolas stood his ground for no rocks came his way.

“Is the great Faramir scared?” Legolas teased, Faramir scowled.

“If I was warmer, I’d fight you for that” Faramir hissed, but a small smile graced his frozen lips now.

“He’s trying to bring down the mountain!” Aragorn yelled above the air “Gandalf! We must turn back!”

“No!” Gandalf protested profusely, getting up from his tomb in the snow. He stood his ground on the snow. He yelled back into the air spells or such of his own, making Faramir shiver with such magic being conjured. He was a Man of Elves, not of Wizardry and magick. Elven magick, yes, other kinds simply scared him.

Then lightening struck way above them, this time it rained rocks and snow in a deadly mixture. Faramir and Legolas were both looking up, but they turned their heads down at the same time. Faramir stepped forward, grabbing Legolas by his arm and slamming him against the wall. He stepped farther and grabbed at Pippin’s arm (he was trailed off some) Faramir threw him against the wall as well, but at a price.

“Faramir!” Legolas yelled, his voice clear and piercing threw the very air as Faramir was clearly in the way of many boulders. Then they were buried in snow, all of them. Having all seen their companion in danger, they dug threw the snow.

“He’s gone!” Gimli was the first to exclaim “The lad’s been taken!”

“No! No!” tears welled up in Elven eyes as he dug his way up and over to the edge. He looked down, feeling the man’s presence.

“Legolas!” Faramir yelled, hanging on by merely nothing but protruding rock. He had been hit hard in the stomach by a falling rock, later he knew he would bruise. Legolas acted fast, pulling Sam up from the snow fully and taking from the pack he carried a strong rope the Elves had placed in there.

“Boromir, Aragorn, I need your help!” Legolas said, going over to the edge. He lowered the rope, quickly uncoiling it “Faramir! Grab on, we’ll pull you up!” Faramir nodded feverently “I’ll tell you when!” He turned, receiving a nod from Boromir and Aragorn “Grab hold of me!”

“Who’s the strongest?” Gandalf asked quickly “the physical strongest and largest should be at the front” Legolas quickly gave the rope to Boromir and pointed down at the Gondorian hanging from the side.

Faramir was gasping in breaths, but a silver length of rope was suddenly in front of him. He looked up, not seeing the Elven prince but instead his older brother.

“Grab hold Faramir!” Boromir shouted, Faramir nodded again and trusted his brother fully by grabbing a hold of the rope with both hands. At first, he dropped down a bit as did his heart and he nearly screamed, but then he was pulled up rather quickly. Soon, he was at the edge and pulled into someone’s strong arms. He was pulled to the wall, snuggling close to who held him.

“Dearest little brother…” Boromir sighed out crystallized breath, sifting his fingers threw his brother’s hair before pulling up his hood again. He hugged his sibling, whispering to him quickly. Faramir shivered violently, Legolas dropped to his knees beside them with a heavy sigh. He was relieved, as were they all that they hadn’t lost someone so soon.

“Big brother…” Faramir whispered, cuddling into his brother “Maybe I shouldn’t have come, maybe I was wrong…but I’m glad you’re here with me” Faramir looked over at Legolas “both of you”

“We must get up the mountain!” Boromir yelled to Gandalf “We’ll make for Rohan!”

“Rohan is to close to Isengaurd!” Aragorn replied hastily.

“If we can not go over the mountain, let us go under it!” Gimli sounded eager “Let us go threw the Mines of Moria!” There was a pregnant pause.

“Let the Ring-Bearer decide” Gandalf replied solemnly. Frodo looked around at his frozen kin, then at the trembling lipped Faramir, then at the blue eyed Legolas who feared greatly for the Gondorian, then Boromir who continued to coddle his trembling brother, then at Aragorn who looked neutral, then at Gimli who looked set, and finally at his dearest Sam who simply wanted the best for all of the Fellowship. “Frodo?”

“We will go threw the Mines” Frodo replied solemnly.

“So be it”

Faramir sighed, burying his face into his brother’s tunic.

“Valar have mercy on us….”

Chapter 5: Movement in the Water

“Like water flowing into lungs, I’m flowing through these days
As morphine tears through deadened veins, I’m numbing in these days”

—Bleed Black

Connor: This is one of the best chapters.
Karma: You only think it’s one of the best because Aragorn gets a bigger part, bigger than Legolas’s anyways.
Connor: I’m sorry, I don’t like him.
Karma: thinks hard, then grins Your jealous…
Connor: sputters indignantly Excuse me?
Karma: You heard me, your jealous!
Connor: Of what?!
Karma: Your jealous because he is an Elf and your nothing but a lowly Angel of Death….and he has better hair.
Connor: broods in corner
Karma: He’s nothing but a big baby
Emono: I agree
Karma and Emono: nods heads

“You can’t”

“I can”

“Faramir…even I can’t”

“But I can!

“No, you can’t”

“I can so!”

Aragorn rolled his eyes as Legolas and Faramir bickered, releasing Sam’s pony Bill “The Mines are no place for a pony, Sam. He’s smart, he’ll find his way home.” Aragorn pat the Hobbit on the shoulder, then turned to his two good friends. “Now what are you two bickering like an old married couple about?”

“He thinks I can’t do a spin-kick on my hands!” Faramir pointed at Legolas accusingly. Legolas put his hands on his hips and moved them to the side a little, a scolding pose.

“Aragorn, even I can’t do that” Legolas replied, he was calm. Faramir pouted, crossing his arms and stamping his feet into the dirt like a child.

“Will you stop throwing a tantrum?” Boromir sighed frustratingly as he sat down their packs. Gandalf could no figure out the password, giving them all a break. “Let me see your torso little brother” Faramir stopped with his fit, reaching down and pulling up his shirt to reveal green and blue bruises along his torso.

“They aren’t as bad as they look, I feel no pain” Faramir replied truthfully, he poked a blue spot hard and winced “Well…nothing hurts till you poke it, I suppose”

“Come, I have healing salve” Legolas sat down on a rock, reaching into his pack and pulling out a small vile. He looked, seeing Faramir still standing there but giving him a pervert stare “Are you deaf now? Sit!”

“Always an angel…” Faramir sighed, then walked over and sat beside the Elf so he could gently apply the slightly stinging salve. It made him wince and jump slightly “....brat prince, watch it”

“Tis not my touch that hurts, it is but the salve” Legolas almost accused, gently rubbing in the cream. He wanted to prove that not only was he a deadly foe in battle, but he could also be a loving nurse maid. The salve cooled and Faramir sighed pleasantly, nodding in agreement with the Elf.

“Thank you, much obliged” Faramir grinned and placed a kiss to the Elf’s hand. “Now!” he stood up abruptly and turned to the rest of the group “Who wants to see if I can really do a spin-kick on my hands?”

“Sure, what is it?” Pippin asked.

“It’s a….” Faramir gave him a weary stare “...spin-kick…on my hands”

“Your such a ditz Pip” Merry elbowed his kin lightly. Faramir bowed to his crowd, then took off his cloak and pack. He took in a deep breath, Legolas rolled his eyes. He was about to flip forward when Boromir chimed in…

“Show off”

“Bite me” Faramir readied himself again, then bent over and got on his hands. He smiled broadly, giving himself a moment to balance from the shift. He then puffed out his chest,, then let out the breath in a yell as he bent his elbows and spun his body. His legs were long a nimble, they stretched out and did a deadly kick-spin in the air that would have taken out three foes alone from being knocked in the head. Faramir used the leverage of the spin to flip himself so his feet hit the floor and he bowed gracefully.

The Hobbits cheered, Gimli laughed while Aragorn clapped as well. Boromir rolled his eyes, muttering curses. Legolas smiled in his defeat.

“Truly, you are Elven my friend” Legolas teased, gazing fondly into Faramir’s flushed face. He did not even break a sweat, nor did he pant.

“Yes, well I-” Faramir replied proudly, then gazed off into the water. It was not out of danger, it was out of thought. Faramir stepped up the door, all eyes on him. He took in a deep breath, making it look dramatic, as he placed his hands in front of him as if about to pray. He let out a sigh, then spread out his hands and bellowed “Mellon!” They were close to thinking he was he nuts, but then the doors opened up to them. Gasps and murmurs, then they were ready to enter.

“How did you know?” Gandalf asked, setting a crystal on his staff.

“It said: Speak ‘friend’, and enter” Faramir grinned, Legolas smiled and pat him on the shoulder lovingly.

“I taught you well” Legolas sighed, “let us go in” The place was dark, they could barely see anything save for what the moonlight showed.

“Soon Master Elf, you will enjoy the fabled hospitality of the Dwarves” Gimli said proudly, Faramir secretly mocked the Dwarf behind him and it made Legolas smile “Roaring fires, malt beer, ripe meat off the bone!” Gimli was proud, Faramir stopped mocking him only to roll his eyes. Gandalf blew on the crystal, casting a light on the ‘room’ so to speak. “This my friend is the home of my cousin, and they call it a Mine!” Gimli chuckled “A Mine!”

“This is no Mine….” Boromir pointed out, his gaze drifting over the floor “...it is a tomb”

“No!” Gimli cried, seeing Dwarf skeletons on the floor “No! No!” Faramir and Legolas exchanged a look, Faramir knelt down to gaze at the floor and at the footprints while Legolas pulled out an arrow.

“Goblins?” Faramir asked half-heartedly, he knew the answer.

“Goblins” Legolas agree, tossing the arrow aside with a sneer. Swords were drawn, Faramir and Legolas pulled out their bows and arrows.

“We make for the gape of Rohan” Boromir said solemnly “We should never have come here at all” Faramir gave his brother a ‘how was Frodo supposed to know all this?’ look, but it was ignored. The Hobbits fussed behind them.

“Get out of here! Get out!” Aragorn yelled. They began to go back out, when something stirred underneath the water. They had no time to do anything before Frodo was snatched from underneath them. Legolas was out there first, shooting arrows at the tentacle that held Frodo before going at the mouth. He unconsciously stepped closer to his pray to get better shots, something not wise when hunting for deer. His father had scolded him for it, and now he knew why. He was knee deep in the water when Faramir yelled his name. His feet were whipped out from underneath him, his bow knocked onto the land. He was picked up and held in the air like a sacrifice around the waist. He cried out, squirming against the slimy muscle. He pushed at the monster, kicking only slightly for his legs were held as well. Arrows were shot at the tentacle, he knew it was Faramir.

“Faramir!” Legolas cried, then the tentacle squeezed and all air burst from his lungs in one name “Faramir!” Then the muscle went limp, Faramir had cut it below him. He fell suddenly, not realizing how far up in the air he was. Strong arms caught him, and suddenly he was being put on his feet by his beloved Faramir.

“Are you alright beloved?” Legolas did a quick check of his bones and such, then nodded. Faramir tucked a lock of Elven hair behind his ear with a smile, then turned serious and nodded “Grab your bow, into the Mines” Legolas did as was instructed, racing over the ground and picking up his bow along with a few of his arrows that had dropped. Boromir caught Frodo when they got him down, holding him close.

“Into the Mines!” Gandalf yelled. After grabbing what was his, Legolas raced with his companion into the Mines. The large octopus-type creature lashed at the entrance, knocking in the cave so it buried the opening in debris. Legolas stared wide eyed as the opening closed, their light fading away. An arm was wrapped around his waist, Faramir’s arm for it was Faramir’s voice in his ear.

“Damn it all” Faramir whispered, holding onto Legolas so to know the Elf was alright as the light went out. He then let go, he felt Legolas turn around. Faramir stepped back once more and stumbled on a rock and fell back into someone. The two bodies tumbled, then landed on the floor with Faramir being pinned. The cry of Faramir echoed threw the room when pressure was applied to his ribs.

“Ow! Get off me!”

“Faramir?”

“Yes, now get off”

“Here, let me help you up….”

“Watch it Aragorn, that’s not my hand”

“Yes it is, what else could it be?”

“Hey! Stop groping me! Rape!”

“Will you shut up?!”

“Help! Gandalf! I’m being molested!”

“He’s not being molested!” then a sound of skin on skin, someone being smacked in the face “...did you just slap me? You little-”

“You can’t grope me as you please you know”

“Faramir, I can’t even see you”

“Doesn’t mean you can’t feel me…”

“Be quiet! Please Gandalf, a little light”

“Yes, so he can at least see where he’s groping”

“Faramir, shut up, or I’m going to tie you up and carry you like a sack all threw the
Mines and I won’t be lenient with you either!”

“Mmm, sorry there Aragorn, I’m not into that kind of thing. You know, being tied really doesn’t do anything for me…Ow! He’s pinning me! Rape!” Gandalf smiled, blowing on his crystal once more to shed light. Indeed, Aragorn was pinning Faramir. They were on the ground, Faramir was on his back and Aragorn was half on his side as he pinned Faramir by the shoulders. Legolas felt another wave of jealousy wash over him.

“See!” Faramir grinned “I told he was molesting me” Aragorn huffed, getting to his feet and pulling Faramir up by his collar “Ow, your very rough you know”

“Valar, lphe’ em otn lestrang’ isth th`you1” Aragorn muttered, closing his eyes and raising his head skyward.

“Hey! I heard that!” Faramir snapped “I like to see you strangle me brother Aragorn!” In an instant, Aragorn’s hand was at his throat and he was thrown into the wall. Aragorn’s touch was not deadly, it was light and gentle and rested over his pulse and other vital points. “Oh…”

“I could snap your neck” the fingers probed slightly, almost caressing his neck before Aragorn was by Gandalf’s side and asking him what to do next. Gandalf said stuff about going threw the Mines, but Legolas put a hand on Faramir’s shoulder.

“Odo`tno pt`tem eth ngki o`so2” Legolas whispered, smiling at the Man. Faramir nodded, turning to the Elf. They stared into each others eyes, gray-green meeting an icy blue. For a moment, nothing existed but them. Not Boromir or Orcs or Goblins, not even the Ring or the quest to destroy it. It was only them…

“Come now, we’re going threw the Mine” Boromir called to his brother, him and the Elf now the only ones in the room besides himself. They both nodded, almost jogging to catch up with the others.

1 Valar, help me not to strangle this youth

That is cute. Please continue. By the way I like how childish you have them acting.

dude. i was reading along, laughing my butt off cause seriously, the whole rape thing was just hilarious, then this just ended. that’s really disappointing. i was looking forward to reading more.

Magos, please remember these authors all write in their spare time and share their stories with us without asking for anything in return. I can understand it is sometimes disappointing when you want to read more but the author hasn't yet had time to write more, but complaining about it will not motivate anyone to give up more of their precious time for you. Praise tends to be more effective ;)
