Haldir tucked a lock of hair behind Faramir’s ear, then moved closer, the fourth time he’d done so in the last hour.

Faramir reached over and threaded their fingers together. He was blushing, but the smile on his face lit up the entire room, and he made no attempt to hide his amusement.

“You don’t care for the smell of rabbit stew?” he asked, thinking their dinner smelled absolutely delicious.

Haldir shook his head and now that he had permission, moved closer still. He nuzzled against Faramir’s neck and sighed. “Hate it,” he murmured. “It masks the smell of you.”
